Optimum Nutrition's NEW
PerforMAXX Sports Multiple Vitamin is packed full of vitamins and essential
minerals. It was designed to enhance performance for those who
lead athletic lifestyles.
Cryptoxanthin
This carotenoid, found naturally occurring in orange rinds, egg is a powerful antioxidant and helps protect Vitamin C, Vitamin
E, and
other carotenoids from oxidative damage, thereby increasing
their effective lifespan in the body.
Lutein
A carotenoid found in dark green leafy vegetables, various fruits, and egg yolks, Lutein has been
found in recent studies to protect the
eyes from free radical damage helping to support good vision.
Lycopene
Lycopene, a close relative of Beta-Carotene, Lutein, Zeaxanthin, and
Cryptoxanthin, is the bright red pigment that gives several fruits and vegetables (most
notably tomatoes, watermelon, pink grapefruit, and red oranges) their deep rich color. Of the over 600 known
carotenoids, Lycopene appears to be the most active in the human body and may promote good overall
health by supporting ability to neutralize damaging free radicals.
Boron
This essential mineral assists in maintaining healthy bones by helping to improve the absorption and
utilization of calcium and magnesium.
Astaxanthin
This recently discovered carotenoid, derived from marine algae, is a potent antioxidant (up to 10 times more potent
than Beta-Carotene and 550 times more potent than Vitamin E). Early studies have demonstrated the ability
of Astaxanthin to help enhance energy metabolism
and support healthy immune and cardiovascular function.
Hesperidin Complex
A Citrus Bioflavonoid, Hesperidin may help promote Capillary strength and prevent Vitamin C from being
destroyed in tile body by oxidation, and support healthy connective tissue.
Citrus Bioflavonoids
Citrus Bioflavonoids are water-soluble compounds found
naturally occurring with Vitamin C in citrus fruits, rose hips, and various other plants. In humans, Citrus
Bioflavonoids help maintain healthy capillary walls and have synergistic antioxidant effects with
Vitamin C.
Zeaxanthin
Found in yellow hued fruits and vegetables
such as corn, peaches, persimmons, and mangoes, this carotenoid helps protect
the eyes and various other systems of the body from free
radical damage.
Alpha Carotene
This lesser known member of the camtenoid family works synergistically
with Beta Carotene to combat free radicals and, according to some studies, may actually be as much as ten times more potent by itself than
Beta Carotene.
N-Acetyl Cysteine
A potent free radical scavenger that
helps support a healthy immune system through increased production of
Glutathione, the body’s
own most potent antioxidant.
Korean Ginseng
Has been used historically by athletes to
help increase energy, vitality, stamina, and recover particularly during times of fatigue
and /or stress.
Tocotrienols
A subfamily of Vitamin E, Tocotrienols are showing
promise in their ability to improve overall cardiovascular function.
Choline
This relative of the B-Vitamin family helps facilitate the movement of
fat in the cells and is needed by the body for proper nerve transmission,
brain function, and memory.
Inositol
Another relative of the B-Vitamin family, Inositol is-an
important factor in the breakdown and metabolism in fats and cholesterol.
Ginkgo Biloba
Ginkgo is one of the most clinically researched botanicals in the world
and recent studies of the extract indicate that it may help increase blood circulation to the brain which may, in turn, promote memory and
concentration.
Rutin
This ingredient, found in buckwheat, is known as a flavonol, works synergistically
with Vitamin C, and may be useful against bruising and bleeding.
